Windermere Parking Requirements

Windermere Homeowner Association (WHOA) Parking Requirements

Every property owner agrees to respect Windermere covenants, conditions and restrictions (CCR) when purchasing their property. This includes parking requirements which protect your car (and others) from risk of accident, assure adequate street clearance for emergency vehicles and others driving in our neighborhood, and prevent unsightly vehicles, trailers, etc. (reference CCR Section 13.5).  Please park wisely, within the law, and with respect to Windermere covenants.

Windermere Parking Standards:

  • Overnight street parking is not permitted.  Please assure overnight resident and guest vehicles are parked in your garage or driveway.
  • Parking is allowed only in your driveway and garage.  It’s understood visitors or service providers will park on the street for limited periods during day and evening hours.  No parking in yards, on sidewalks, etc.
  • Vehicles prohibited from parking on streets or in driveways include:
    • Commercial vehicles and tractors (except for those belonging to service providers engaged in work on your property during working hours);
    • Mobile homes, recreational vehicles, campers, off-road vehicles, trailers;
    • Boats and other watercraft;
    • Trucks in excess of ¾ ton;
    • Inoperable and/or unlicensed vehicles.

All of these vehicles may be parked/stored in garages.

  • WHOA will enforce these requirements when made aware of violations via complaint or inspection, and has the right to tow vehicles at owner expense if requests to park per  CCRs are ignored.  Your respect for neighborhood requirements will prevent this.

City of Fishers ordinance requirements include:

  • No parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
  • Sidewalks cannot be blocked (partially or completely).
  • Cars must be parked 20 feet from any intersection, and 30 feet from stop signs.
  • 18’ of road width (enough for two cars passing in opposite directions) must remain available after parking.This often means no parking directly across the street from another vehicle in most areas of Windermere.
  • No parking across from a driveway or blocking a driveway.
  • Inoperable and/or unlicensed vehicle parking on streets or driveways is not permitted.
  •

Violations of Fishers parking ordinances may be reported to Fishers Police Department at 317-773-1282 (non-emergency line).  Click here for additional details on City of Fishers neighborhood parking requirements.
