Greetings, Windermere Neighbors! Welcome Fall!
The change in seasons always brings new opportunities to enjoy and chores to complete! Some quick updates from your Windermere Homeowners Association Board of Directors:
TRICK OR TREAT!
Fishers Halloween Trick or Treat hours are 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on stThursday, October 31st. Enjoy!
Talking Trash…
Fall leaf pick up will be scheduled by Republic Services soon. Watch https://www.windermerefishers.com/ for details, which will be posted as soon as dates are confirmed.
City of Fishers is moving forward with a city-wide trash contract awarded to Republic Services effective January 2025. Full details can be found here. Mayor Scott Fadness will host a virtual Town Hall meeting October 2, offering the latest updates. Windermere trash services are currently contracted with Republic, which should allow a smooth transition.
Time for Trees!
In addition to offering beautiful fall color, Fall is the perfect time to maintain and plant new trees and shrubs. Some helpful hints and requests:
- Please remember new plantings (not replacements) require WHOA Architectural Review Committee (ARC) approval.Login to your account at www.windermerefishers.com and complete the Request for Change Application found under the “Documents” tab.
- Parkway trees (Windermere properties are required to have at least two) require a City of Fishers street tree permit, which can be found here. WHOA directors are working with Fishers Planning & Zoning to assure street tree permits are approved consistent with plat requirements approved when Windermere was developed.
- Keep all trees and shrubs trimmed to provide sidewalk clearance, with a minimum of 7 feet height between branches and sidewalks.Trimming branches at 8-10 feet of height off the street will reduce risk of truck/vehicle damage. PLEASE make sure your trees are trimmed to assure safe use of sidewalks.
- Protect tree health by:
- Assuring root crowns are not buried in mulch.“Volcano mulching” creates girdled roots, which will kill your tree. Learn more about root girdling from Purdue University by clicking here.
- Water newly planted trees regularly for at least 2-3 years.Check soil moisture 3”-4” below the surface. If dry, water the base of the tree with a slow feed over at least an hour.Insufficient watering is a key reason newly planted trees fail to thrive.
Signs of Election Season
Election Day is November 5. For those wishing to display candidate signs, please remember political signs are permitted 30 days before and 5 days after an election, per Indiana Code. HOA covenants prohibit political signs at all other times, along with contractor, advertising or other signs, except standard real estate “For Sale” signs. Thanks for your cooperation.

- New playground equipment is expected to be installed at Windermere Park before end of year, and not later than March 1 in case we have an early freeze.The playground will be closed for 2 weeks while the new equipment is installed.
- Common area and Windermere entrances will see ongoing landscaping improvements this fall and next spring. Please be sure to share any common area landscaping concerns usin g the Contact Property Management and/or Contact HOA Board buttons at www.windermerefishers.com.
- Year-end holidays are coming! Please spread the joy of the season with holiday lights from Thanksgiving through the New Year celebration.
- Windermere HOA All-Resident Annual Meeting. Please mark your calendars for our Annual Meeting, including budget approval and HOA Director elections. The meeting will take place virtually via Zoom at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 25. More details to follow in November.
