Fishers Trash Service Update

Published August 5, 2024, Updated August 19, 2024

Windermere residents will likely see 2025 trash collection services managed under a city-wide contract overseen by Fishers Board of Public Works, if a proposal made July 23 is approved by the Board and Fishers City Council.  To view the City’s recommendation, click here.

Trash collection for Windermere homes is currently managed under a multi-year contract with Republic Services managed by Windermere Homeowners Association that concludes at the end of 2024.  The current Windermere cost per home is $12 with an increase of approximately 50% as quoted for the first year of an HOA managed contract renewal.

If approved by the Board of Public Works and Fishers City Council, the new Fishers contract will provide continued service to our community by Republic Services at a first year cost of $16.39 per home for weekly trash collection and bi-weekly recycling collection (same services currently provided to Windermere).  Large item pick-up and leaf collection under the new contract are included also.  Windermere HOA representatives have met with Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness and other city officials to gain additional details on the contract proposal.

Trash collection fees will be managed by the City of Fishers under the proposal, with one monthly bill for trash collection and sewer services, rather than included in annual Windermere HOA assessment.

More details will be shared here as we receive them.
