As you may know, last week the City of Fishers issued a no-dig work order to Metronet, following gas line damage. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) is conducting an investigation into all gas line breaks. Fishers no-dig order will remain in effect until the investigation by the IURC is complete. At that time, the City will review the findings and work with the IURC and private utilities to determine next steps.
In the meantime, please note:
- Residents may pull the utility locate flags, if they were ordered by Metronet.
- The no-dig order does not apply to any restoration work that needs to be completed. However, if restorative work requires digging by Metronet or their subcontractors, the City will require a City Inspector to be on-site during any digging.
