City of Fishers - COVID-19 HOA Update

COVID-19 HOA Updates

The City of Fishers urges our community to follow social distancing guidelines.

As we continue to create a new normal for our community, the City of Fishers looks to our residents and businesses to cooperate with changing guidelines. The City recognizes the growing concerns and uncertainties within our neighborhoods due to COVID-19. In an effort to reduce the spread of this virus, the City request that each neighborhood follow CDC protocols and precautions.

The following considerations should be prohibited or more restrictive:

  • Neighborhood gatherings and social events (i.e. Easter egg hunts, group cookouts, neighborhood cleanup events, etc.)
  • Playgrounds and children play dates
  • Tennis and basketball courts - The City has restricted the use of basketball courts.
  • Food trucks - These vendors are allowed to serve food if they have a permit from the County Health Department. Customers should visit in small groups, stay at least 6 feet apart while in line and drive over and wait in your car when you can.
  • We encourage getting outdoors and home maintenance, but this should not be hired out. (i.e. Landscaping and contractual work is not essential business)
  • The decisions to close private businesses are left with the County Health Department and the Governor. Here is the list essential businesses and operations.

Other helpful resources:

  • Fishers’ COVID-19 hotline: 317-595-3211
  • Please use the Relay app for non-emergency or call 317-595-3300
  • Public meetings will be available virtually. Visit the City's calendar to learn more.

Just as we will continue to monitor this situation and keep you informed, we ask that you do the same for those living in your neighborhood. Share this with your residents.

A Message from Fishers Fire Department

Fishers Fire Department is fully staffed and prepared for your emergency. We are trained and prepared to manage our current health risk and have plans in place to implement to the degree of the emergency.

Here are things you can do to assist us:

  • Keep your family calm. Have open conversations but don’t dwell on the “what ifs.”  Assure your kids that you are taking all the precautions available at this time.
  • Continue to wash hands, disinfect, use good hygiene, use social distance, and common sense.
  • If you are sick, stay home.
  • If you feel like you may have a virus, contact your doctor or emergency department before arriving so they can prepare for your visit.
  • The virus is not the only threat we have in everyday life. Practice home safety procedures. Develop escape plans with the kids, know two ways out, and self-teach some first aid steps like bandaging depending on their ages.
  • Kitchen fires is one of the largest risks, especially since we are all cooking so much more. Teach the kids and example them how to be safe in the kitchen.
  • Get outside and ride a bike when the weather is decent. Wear helmets and use caution around streets.
  • Follow the Fishers Fire Department on Facebook.
